The house is beautiful, the rooms and interior decor are lovely, the staff are amazing, and the food is super, but a fitness facility—like a gym—would have been great.

The setting is beautiful and it’s a hidden gem, but I wish we could have stayed longer.

The hotel was lovely, and the staff were great. Nothing else to add.

We escaped to a beautiful Welsh countryside manor, feeling secluded, relaxed, and well‑cared for; staying in The Lovage honeymoon suite with our dogs was perfect, with our own private garden, an excellent minibar, and spotless cleanliness; the Grove’s genuine dog friendliness was a major plus, with welcome baskets for our pets and many nearby walking spots, making dogs feel normal rather than just “allowed”; the food was another highlight, with two restaurants offering exceptional cooking for the price, especially the breakfast dishes like the haddock omelette with black pudding and the excellent rösti, plus fresh croissants; staff were very accommodating, with Ollie at breakfast and a young gentleman at dinner whose food knowledge was impressive for his age; the combination of beautiful surroundings, great food, dog‑friendly hospitality, and excellent service makes The Grove special, quiet and relaxed yet high quality, and we would definitely return with our dogs; overall a perfect countryside escape with excellent value for accommodation, food, and service, though the English breakfast itself was nothing special compared to the rest of the menu.
