The resort is lovely, with several pools—including a separate kiddie pool—and there was always a spot available by the water. The restaurants are great, especially “El Faro,” which is small, elegant, and served by incredibly friendly staff. The food itself was consistently excellent. The animation team kept us entertained, notably “Fresa,” whose warm personality shone through. The only downside worth mentioning is the sea, which is rather murky and has some seaweed. The beach, however, is dreamy and arguably the best maintained in the area.

The resort boasts an excellent atmosphere with plenty of restaurants and activities, and the cozy “houses” of up to two stories give it a homely feel; the rooms are spacious and well‑appointed, and the all‑inclusive items are top‑quality, making it a great family getaway. Beach service and room service were outstanding, especially using the app to place orders, and the property is well organized in a beautiful part of Bavaro / Arena Gorda. Although sargassum was present, Iberostar clearly maintained its beach better than neighboring resorts, working hard to keep conditions usable even when the algae increased. On the downside, the Coral‑level reception gave vague information and didn’t explain the amenities clearly. In my first room the shower tiles came loose—luckily no one was injured—but the whole wall coating was detaching, indicating a serious maintenance issue that should have been caught before guests arrived. On day four both my wife and I suffered food‑borne illness after only eating hotel‑provided meals, costing us a day of the trip and suggesting a problem with food handling or storage.

The staff were attentive—shouts to Fresita and Lilo from the animation team—and the food was varied and good. The desserts need improvement; a Dominican pastry chef should prepare them artisanally, because most are bland.
