The building has been tastefully updated and is a good showcase of Victorian style inside; the food was a big surprise, with an excellent dinner and one of the best breakfasts I have had in the UK as a whole; the owners were proud to share the work they have done on the estate, which is amazing; they work very hard to please their guests and will accommodate most requests; they have an incredible garden there which they use to supply portions of the meals; the blackcurrants were fantastic; I highly recommend the Isla Bank, one of the best stays we have had in the UK; Nick and Vena have done a great job. Took us a night to get used to the chalk board direction signs to go to the right rooms for meals, but I think that was user error; they are very well organized at Isla Bank, I regret that we didn't have more time to stay but would love to come back.

The breakfast was delicious; our stay was short, but the Isla Bank House was a lovely place to get some rest after a full day of travel and sightseeing; the room was spacious and comfortable, and the tub was relaxing.

Schönes gepflegtes Landhaus. Wie man es sich vorstellt, wenn man schon in Schottland gereist ist. Der Empfang war harsch, obwohl ich eine E-Mail geschrieben hatte, dass wir mit dem Zug um ca. 15h ankommen, denn Check In ist erst ab 17h. Mit viel „Glück“ durften wir wenigstens unsere zwei grossen Koffer deponieren, und schlussendlich eine halbe Stunde vorher das Zimmer beziehen. Das Frühstück musste per Mail vorbestellt werden, keine Zeitauswahl (bei vier Zimmer) 08:30! Nicht rechtzeitig am Tisch, stand der Kaffee und das Rührei schon dort, und wurde kalt

Vena and Nick are fantastic hosts, super friendly and helpful. The ambience is romantic, the rooms stylish and cosy, and the food is exceptional – a clear top recommendation.
