We felt incredibly welcomed! The breakfast and meals were always local and well‑prepared. The room was spacious with plenty of storage. The garden was gorgeous despite the drought! A huge pool with loungers and parasols, and plenty of spots outside where you can find some privacy and sit. Nothing to complain about – everything was more than good!

What really stood out was how Sophie runs her guest house – she’s extremely friendly and gives loads of bike‑tour tips, making our stay very pleasant. In the evenings (and by arrangement) she was the perfect cook.

Sophie was a fantastic host who opened her home to us for three nights. We drove each day to explore the nearby villages and towns she suggested. Her dinner recommendations were spot‑on and the food always tasty. As Australians, we love experiencing local life, and staying here let us do just that, coming back each evening to chat and laugh with Sophie. She cooked a delicious meal with local wine for our last night. I can’t recommend L’Echappee Belle enough! There was nothing we didn’t like about the property.

We were very well and friendly received, and the room and entire stay were very pretty and well‑maintained. The breakfast was delicious. Sophie is an excellent host who is always ready to give tips and answer questions. A must‑visit!

Everything was perfect – Sophie’s welcome was warm and professional, the chance to meet people, chat in a calm and caring place, the surrounding nature, the splendid garden, the quiet, the kindness and respect for others on site, and the opportunity to visit extraordinary regional sites. The only downside was coming alone and not being able to share that convivial, timeless moment.
