When I booked, I saw it was 31 km from Cook Mountain, roughly 20 minutes by car, but on the afternoon of the 29th, when I was heading to the accommodation, the navigation told me it would take over 5 hours 40 minutes. That 31 km drive taking that long is ridiculous; please explain this. I didn’t stay that night and can’t get a refund—do you take responsibility for this loss?

Checking in was easy even though we got there after closing time. We had everything we needed for a quick overnight break on our journey.

The room was comfortable, the common areas were spacious, and the large kitchen was well equipped. The location was convenient for visiting Fox Glacier and Franz Joseph Glacier, and the environment was quiet. We were there in the middle of winter; on the first night the heating turned off at 20:00, on the second at 21:00, and there was only one heating source in the common room, so we felt a bit cold. Also, the communal toilet doors could use a little improvement for more privacy.
