The cooked food was lovely, but part of it was missing and we weren’t told in advance; I only received one small piece of toast, asked for more, and was told the chef had gone. We booked dinner for the evening, but Buttermere informed us upon arrival that there is never dinner on a Sunday night, forcing us to eat elsewhere. One side of the bed was distinctly tilted, likely due to a broken structure or mattress.

The views, ease of parking, and proximity to the station were great, earning a 7.0/10. However, the oven didn’t work, the cistern in the bathroom was broken, the lift didn’t always operate, and the duvets were old and lumpy.

The staff, location, room, property, setting, food, breakfast, pub, and area were all excellent, giving a 9.0/10, but the bed was not very comfy.
