I was thrilled to drive away after checking out, but this was the worst place we've ever stayed. The room smelled like mould and was filthy; I couldn't even sleep on the bed because the sheets felt awful. The mattress gave off a horrible odor, so we both slept in our clothes. We barely slept at all, and a French couple staying there told us their room was disgusting and they wouldn't return. It's shameful that this place is located in.

Because the property was so remote, we couldn't find it with our GPS; the host guided us to the location after about an hour of phone searching. Thank you for that. On the day of arrival, the host informed us at 12 o’clock that she could not provide the booked dinner because she was hosting guests. We couldn't book another place on such short notice, especially since payment had already been made and a free cancellation was not possible. Overall, the accommodation was very basic and did not match the description or photos, so we expected more.

Marianne welcomed us warmly at check‑in and gave us a tour. The large, nicely decorated room had a table and chairs in a corner. A microwave and fridge were located in the corridor outside the room. We could eat, drink, and relax on the terrace. Free parking was available on the premises. Each morning we were served a varied fresh breakfast. The location was great for the Dordogne river, châteaux, picturesque villages, hiking, and cycling, yet it was secluded and quiet. It was good value and we truly enjoyed our stay and Marianne’s hospitality. We had to get used to the toilet behind a curtain in the bedroom and were mindful of each other’s privacy, but this was noted in the listing, so we were aware.
