The location is absolutely perfect, and the staff was amazing, especially when they catered breakfast for food allergies. We had a great time, though the room was cleaned daily but the carpet and bathroom were quite dated; I’d expect more from a 4‑star hotel.

From the moment I arrived at Ty Afon – River House, the service was outstanding. The team was warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making every moment special. No request felt like too much trouble, questions were answered with a smile, and the staff were present without being intrusive. The house itself has a charming, relaxed vibe and feels like the perfect retreat after a day exploring the spectacular Welsh countryside. Every detail, from the warm welcome to the thoughtful touches, feels carefully considered and professionally handled. We would happily return and recommend Ty Afon – River House without hesitation.

Easy to find and well located for the town and walks. Beautiful surroundings. Friendly, helpful staff. Sharing platter and breakfast were great. A nice calming feel to the hotel. There were a couple of small maintenance improvements that could be made but nothing that would stop me from staying again. Wonderful place!

We had a wonderful time at Ty Affon; the staff was delightful, they served a lovely breakfast and a gorgeous cheese board, and they were generally friendly and helpful. It’s charming, no frills, and set in a gorgeous setting, but the room was small.
