“Piękny nocleg w górskiej scenerii!!!”

I love unconventional places, and CA' DEL VINO Rooms turned out to be just that. My wife and I stayed there for one night as part of a longer train trip across Europe, and we were both enchanted. The property is near the Italian‑Swiss border, just a 2‑minute walk from the Varzo train station, which made logistics very convenient for us. We were given a spacious and very comfortable room on the floor. The room had a kettle, coffee, tea, and snacks. The place was tidy, clean, and simply pretty. Across from the lodging, the restaurant of the same name served tasty meals. All of this was set in a beautiful mountain setting. Through the open window you could hear the rushing Diveria River and the occasional passing trains. Even though we had been traveling for almost two weeks, we rested well here and got on the morning train to Switzerland without any problems. In my opinion, the value for money is attractive, and the place is worth considering as an alternative to nearby cities like Domodossola, Brig, or Visp, especially for single nights. I highly recommend it and would gladly return.

The staff were kind and the rooms were clean. We also managed to park our motorcycle in the fenced area.

The property sits on the main road with parking right in front. The owner is friendly and courteous, and check‑in was very quick. From the outside the house looks old, but inside the rooms are brand‑new, modern style with a little retro touch from the built‑in wardrobe in the wall (a bit small if you’re staying with someone else for a few days, another piece of furniture could fit). Blackout curtains keep the blinds from having to be opened or closed. Cleaning is impeccable. The room is spacious with a very comfortable double bed, a large wall‑mounted TV, and air‑conditioning. The bathroom is very roomy, the shower is the same. A few small perks that are hard to find – hand‑wash detergent and hangers for drying clothes on a terrace (shared) – are there. There’s no breakfast service, but in the room there’s a kettle with various teas and some breakfast items (preserved jams, crackers, etc.). In the common entrance there’s a coffee machine with pods and bottled water in the fridge. Finally, the quality/price is excellent (the price is definitely low). The retro wall wardrobe is a bit cramped, the bathroom sink “overhang” isn’t to my liking, and the support shelf is quite narrow so you can’t put much on it. It’s a pity there isn’t a shower‑foam dispenser in the shower, and a hanger in the room would have been nice.

Great location, very friendly reception. The room was wonderfully furnished. The bathroom had a lot of taste and attention to detail. We had a lovely view from the window and balcony. Parking directly in front of the house or on the street is a luxury. The mattress was rather firm, and the pillows were too high and hard, so we didn’t sleep well. That’s a shame because everything else was really perfect. Good sleep is, in my opinion, a very important point for a night stay. Therefore investing in softer and slightly lower pillows would be a good idea. People before us had mentioned this. I also felt the room could have had a bit more storage space, e.g., a larger small table. But that’s very individual.
