I stayed in a tidy room with a great bed and a solid shower, located a quarter of an hour from Trier's center and free parking was available. We didn’t eat there, but the sleep was excellent and the price‑quality ratio was solid. The hotel is plain, no frills, and everything we liked was there.

The location is pleasant, a green oasis. Beautiful and good food. The rooms have been renovated and are quite pretty. Access to the rooms is very restrictive—no elevator and many stairs to climb. The rooms are poorly sound‑proofed. At 3 am, the time of my departure, there was no hot water! The staff are very pleasant, smiling and helpful, which I cannot say about the manager or owner regarding passing guests, because with regulars she apparently has them.

Breakfast was amazing! I had no expectations but was delighted to find my table already set the next morning with a yogurt‑berry parfait, fresh fig, an avocado slice, a variety of cheeses and ham, a basket of croissants, white and dark rolls. I was served freshly scrambled eggs and was especially touched when I asked for milk with my coffee and was given an entire little pitcher of hot frothed milk—perfect! Herr Wollscheid himself welcomed me upon arrival and was very hospitable. The desk in the room was practical with an electrical socket right there for me to use my laptop. My mattress was also very comfortable. I brought my own pillow because hotel pillows are always too high for me. The walls are thin and light can come in under the door, but I had earplugs and an eye mask with me so it didn’t bother me.

The Guesthouse is only a walk to the University of Trier. Basic stores for food and other stuff are around. Because the bathroom is shared it becomes a little difficult and one has to plan freshening up, but there is enough and if the guesthouse is empty it’s easier.
