The spot is quiet and charming, near the highway and truck stop but not too noisy, with nice views and a tidy room that had natural light over the bed. The breakfast nook offered a few basic options. However, a strong cleaner or perfume scent lingered until the window was opened, and there were too many religious items in the room. Only the minimum number of towels for two people was provided, which was fine for one night. One side of the bed lacked outlets, and the bed seemed recently moved to another wall, showing damage and repairs on both walls. A dehumidifier was in the room—something I’ve never seen before—and a fly swatter was stuck to the wall for the occasional flies and mosquitoes that slipped in when the door was open.

After staying here several times over the years, I still find it clean, well equipped, and comfortable. I feel safe and enjoy my time there. The lack of a pool or hot tub doesn’t deter me from returning.

This small hotel sits atop a hill, and after the Hawkeye game we were glad to have a room instead of driving home with everyone else. The room was clean and spacious; though dated, everything worked fine. I was pleasantly surprised by the overall hotel. The décor was nice and the room was spotless. The door was secure, so I wasn’t worried about it opening to the outside instead of a hallway. Overall, I’d definitely stay again. Breakfast was a bit lackluster, but I didn’t expect much, so it was acceptable.

The room was super quiet and full of charm, clean, comfy, and felt like home; the bed was really comfortable and the setting was peaceful. The Wi‑Fi was fast, the water pressure was good, and there was a great “home cooking” diner just yards down the hill at the foot of the hill, near Crest Inn. Nothing to complain about.
