Chiangmai by DD&B hostel

The bed was comfy, clean, and the air conditioner was cool; the bathroom was spotless and the staff were friendly. However, the hostel’s shared dorm meant some people were playing on their phones loudly, jumping up and down, and there was no regard for others.

“It was ok for the price but not very confortable”

The location was good, but the place wasn’t very clean and the dorm made it a little uncomfortable to get to the bed.

“Photos look way better than the reality”

The location was great, and there was a separate area where you could sit and get hot or cold water. The staff were very nice when I saw them. The room itself was tiny, only big enough for a bed, and there were dead bugs on the walls. The “window” actually led to the staircase, so it was useless. The corridor and bathroom on my floor were old and run down; the shower wasn’t strong, the holder was broken, the soap dispenser was broken, and the toilet paper wasn’t refilled, so I had to get it from another bathroom. I spent two days trying to find a nearby hotel, asking six or seven of them, some twice, but they were all booked.

“Nicht zu empfehlen”

The location was fine. The check‑in was very complicated and the phone communication was confusing. It didn’t really get easier. The place wasn’t clean; I saw cockroaches. The showers and other areas weren’t clean either.

We managed to check in at night and the staff left the key in a small locker outside. There was an AC in the room. We only stayed one night, but the bed was so hard it felt like sleeping on the floor. Hair behind the light switch was disgusting. The showers were so dirty we didn’t want to shower. There was no fresh air because the windows faced the hallway. We had the deluxe room for two people, so we expected more for that price. We found another hostel for half the price in Chiang Mai that was much better.
