“Nice pictures, but arriving, you are disappointed.”
The bed was the only thing that made the stay worthwhile. The person who was supposed to welcome us never answered the call or the SMS, and when she finally appeared she was expressionless, apathetic, and spoke only her native language, not English. She tried to charge us twice the municipal fee that Booking had listed, blaming Booking for not updating the info. On top of that, our room had been cleaned earlier and left untouched until we arrived, with dirty lamp, coffee maker, used cups, and even a spider with its web in a visible spot. We couldn’t even enjoy a simple cup of coffee. The bathroom lacked shampoo and body soap, only minimal essentials. The noise from neighboring rooms was audible because the rooms were attached and the material allowed clear hearing. We never saw the person who opened the door again, so we had no way to complain.
