“65 gradini: una fatica immane”

The spot is great, but getting in takes 65 steps with dim lighting on the stairs, and the place smells stale. During my four‑night stay nobody came to clean.

“Host per professione o per passatempo?”

The location is perfect for walking to Verona’s main sights. The loft‑style apartment sits on the top floor of an old building on Via Amanti and you have to climb five steep ramps of stairs, 66 steps in total. Unlike the bathroom, which is correctly listed as outside the room but exclusive, the need to climb so many steps isn’t mentioned in any ads. The TV is in the common lounge, not in the room, and that shared area is also used by the host as storage; I found several bags and boxes behind the TV unit, and a ladder and ironing board displayed proudly behind the door. In my room, number 1, there’s no wardrobe. Because it’s a loft, the floor is wooden and a large beam runs across it, so they nailed a metal coat rack to the beam with four or five hooks. There’s a dresser with four drawers, but only the first is usable; the second is full of toys and the other two are locked. The rooms are air‑conditioned, have no windows except in the hallway, and each has a motorised skylight for natural light and ventilation. Taller people often hit their heads, especially in the dining/kitchen area, which has a kettle, microwave, espresso machine and all the usual breakfast items, but no stove. The cleaning was also less than satisfactory.

Výborná poloha v centru města, přesto v noci klid. V apartmánu vše potřebné k dispozici. V pokoji bylo pouze jedno střešní okno na elektrické otevírání. Nešlo otevřít úplně, a jakmile začalo venku být i jen drobně poprchávat, automaticky se zavřelo. A ještě dlouho nešlo otevřít, dokud nebylo sklo úplně suché. V pokoji tedy téměř nešlo větrat, což bylo nepříjemné. K dispozici je klimatizace. Ale to bohužel není totéž, jako když člověk pustí do pokoje čerstvý vzduch. Postel byla pohodlná a široká, ale můj muž se svou výškou 190 cm už musel ležet šikmo, protože se nevešel na délku kvůli železné pelesti. Nemluvě o tom, že v kuchyni se musel krčit úplně. Je třeba počítat s tím, že je to půdní vestavba.
