The Standard Bungalow is positioned above a river within a garden setting. It is air‑conditioned and includes a private bathroom equipped with a hot shower. The room sleeps two guests.
The spot is smack in the centre with a nice river view, and the price is solid. The staff were friendly, but I could have used an extra pillow, curtains that fully close, and a shower that actually heats up.
“Guesthouse correcte pour un court séjour”
The place sits quietly beside the Kwaï River and is within easy reach of several attractions, with the usual functional furnishings inside and a comfortable bed plus decent Wi‑Fi. You can walk from the train station, though I’d suggest taking a taxi on the first and last day when you have luggage, and there are cheap taxi firms on either side of the main road as you leave the guesthouse. The option for two separate beds wasn’t available in the deluxe bungalows we booked; they offered a lower‑standard bungalow instead, but we turned it down because hot water was a must, so in the end we had to share a room despite the staff’s effort to find an alternative.
“Très bien.”
A good riverside establishment with welcoming staff.
“Bel endroit mais un peu vieillot.”
A quiet riverside place. The service and information were lacking, and breakfast was mediocre and took a long time to be served.
Everything was perfect. Nothing to complain about.
