Located in Landshut's historic Old Town district, Hotel Freischütz offers individually themed rooms with Medieval or natural decor. This 2018 opening features a scenic terrace. Soundproofed rooms boast parquet floors, rich materials, and vibrant colors, along with flat-screen TVs, private bathrooms, and some rooms offering balconies or patios. The hotel is 30 minutes from Munich Airport and 45 minutes from Regensburg.

The bed was great, but there was little staff.

We were assigned a lovely room: spacious, on an upper floor, spotless, with a very comfortable bed, a perfect bathroom, and plenty of storage. The downside was that the room faced Börmergasse; in the summer we’d like to keep the windows open all night, but the restaurant staff at “Zum Freischütz” routinely stepped out through a small door onto Börmergasse to smoke. The “break” lasted half an hour and repeated hourly, even late at night. They even set up a chair outside for convenience. One worker had a shrill voice and talked nonstop. When I shouted from my room after a sleepless night to ask him to be quiet because I needed sleep, he and his crew immediately went back to the restaurant (the cigarette was already finished), only to return later for another one. In the end, we nearly burned out because we had to keep the window shut due to the workers. If you book here, ask for rooms that don’t face Börmergasse, or your sleep will be disturbed until late at night.
