The name misled us about the real location; it was built with some old‑East‑Germany charm, so we were satisfied, yet we found better accommodations for a bit less money during our vacation. The bike lockers couldn’t be locked, and there were no bike locks provided.

“Auch ohne Fahrstuhl gerne wieder”

The location is great in a beautiful setting. The room is spacious enough, clean, and the beds are good. Dinner at the on‑site restaurant on the opposite street is excellent. Bikes can be stored in a lockable box. The breakfast buffet leaves almost no room for complaints. The only downside is the lack of an elevator, so we had to carry our bike luggage up to the second floor.

We liked the size of the room, the large comfortable bed, the garden view, and the fantastic breakfast; plus, because we rode bikes, the lockable box was handy. The restaurant offered great food, excellent staff, and a lake view. What I didn’t like was that the room seemed to have been a smoking room or had been smoked in; more troubling was the black mold in the bathroom—there’s urgent work to be done, otherwise the hotel and restaurant are truly recommendable.

“Für einen kurzen Aufenthalt sehr angenehm”

The staff were friendly, the rooms spacious with a large shower, the breakfast buffet excellent, and there was even a fridge and a bike locker for guests. The lake access is a bit far from the hotel; the name “Hotel am Uckersee” makes you think it’s closer, but the walk is still manageable for a healthy person.
