The location is a bit off‑road from Reykjavik, which we found ideal for day trips to the west and gave us a fantastic view of the Northern Lights in October. The rooms aren’t huge but are clean, and the showered bathroom is fairly large. Breakfast is served in the main house and is far better than many places in this price range, featuring curd cheese, Skyr, fresh fruit and veg, assorted breads with cold cuts, boiled eggs, waffles, pancakes, and more—there’s something for every diet. The room also has games, and the upper part is set up like a cozy living room with couches and armchairs, perfect for spending time. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. There’s also a tiny kitchen in a converted trailer with a kettle, microwave, stove, and dishes, useful for making a quick soup or microwave meal. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised and will gladly return. A solid recommendation for a great, affordable place to explore Iceland with family.
