Nestled in Rothbury, the 16th‑century Turks Head coaching house offers en suite double rooms and private cottages with original timber beams and panoramic views of Coquetdale and Simonside. Free Wi‑Fi, flat‑screen TVs, and a separate seating area enhance comfort. Daily breakfast, a local‑produce restaurant, and an adjoining pub cater to guests. Nearby, Craigside House, hiking trails, and the Northumberland coast are within minutes.

Extra large room. Comfortable bed. Loved the matching wallpaper and curtains. Large, roomy shower. Effective heating system. Large, tasty cooked breakfast. Friendly and welcoming staff. Close to Cragside National Trust property. Stayed 2 nights. Ate in the hotel restaurant the second night. Good homemade chips, with my scampi. Don’t normally eat dessert but the child in me was attracted to the Cadburys chocolate sundae with assorted Cadbury’s items. Very disappointed inner child when one of the key ingredients was missing. On expressing disappointment to staff it was apparent that this ingredient has been missing for some time and they have just been serving the dessert without it. I pointed out the error of their ways and they assured me that the ingredient would be purchased… No issues the first morning, with breakfast. Large portion and very tasty. Second morning there was a table of 8 in the restaurant and only one waitress. This caused problems with waiting to order and then being served my own breakfast. More staff needed when there are large numbers on tables for breakfast.
