It was just awful, especially as it was my birthday and we ended up leaving. There was a gas problem, so I couldn’t even order a hot lunch, and we were told that dinner was hanging in the balance too. I spoke to Fran, who I understood to be the manager/owner, about our concerns and I have never been spoken to so rudely. She stormed off after telling me, “You can go, but you’re paying for your room.” I had also reported the condition of the downstairs toilet shortly after 1pm and, when I checked again at around 2.30pm, it appeared unchanged. The bar staff, I must say, were absolutely lovely. But what should have been a special birthday break ended with us leaving the hotel and still being charged for the room. It was incredibly upsetting to see our hard-earned money spent on an experience that ended this way

The room was spacious, but the place was dusty and the soup pump beside the sink in the bathroom was broken.

Breakfast was excellent and well cooked, and every staff member was very welcoming and friendly. The shower was a bit small, and the soap and body wash were positioned too high up.

The staff were polite. The main problem was that the room was super loud at night—so loud the bedroom actually rumbled—apparently because the refrigerator/condenser in the kitchen is close by. If that’s the case, they should invest in a quieter unit; it ruined the evening as we waited for it to turn off (unsure when) and then it woke us up in the morning. I’m sorry to rant. Breakfast was average.
