A lovely hotel right on the lake, with very clean and spacious rooms. Daily room service was excellent, with water refilled and rooms cleaned every day. The food was tasty, and the morning greeting by the monkeys was a real highlight. Overall, the food, location, and atmosphere were simply outstanding.

The Devon Rest staff were very friendly and managed to shift my booking at the last minute to three days earlier, allowing me to check in on the same day I requested the change. The hotel is spotless and situated in an excellent spot near the lake and temple.

I stayed for the Perahela Festival, which is about a 10‑minute walk from the venue; the streets were busy with people and cars, but walking at night felt safe. At check‑in, the freshly squeezed juice they offered was delicious.

The location was great, and both the concierge and front desk staff were outstanding. However, the room itself wasn't clean; there were old stains on the bedding and chair, tiny bugs in the sink and on the nightstand, and a small salamander briefly visited the shower.
