“Not the best value for your money”
Pine Lake Resort sits in a lovely spot close to many beautiful places, and a bus right at the entrance takes you into Lancaster; the watersports are excellent. The food menu was minimal, and if you don’t want to cook in your cabin you’ll end up eating the same thing for a few days because the restaurant never serves breakfast. The cabin itself was lake‑fronted and near the watersports bar, but all cabins need some modernisation; the kitchen is lovely and the beds have ample storage for clothes, coats and shoes. When we arrived the floors looked unclean, so I had to do a quick vacuum and mop. The bed settee didn’t work and looked like it had been packed away wrong by the last guest, so it needs replacing. Unfortunately the shower screen in the main bathroom was dangerous—it fell out of the runner and landed on my daughter as she entered the shower; luckily no serious injury occurred and it was reported to reception. The window in the single bedroom didn’t close, leaving a big gap, so I had to use carrier bags for insulation because it was windy and it got cold for the kids. The watersports bar is great and you can book the watersports for the same day; it wasn’t that busy when we were there, so maybe in busier months book in advance. The leisure centre was ok but needs an upgrade; it looks quite grubby. The pool is nice and clean, but the surrounding area is grubby and the changing rooms are dirty. The steam and sauna rooms are ok but the steam room isn’t hot enough. There’s no lifeguard on pool duty. Overall we had a lovely time and made the best of it, but for the money we paid—over £800.00 for 3 days—I found we had stayed at nicer places that are a lot cheaper and cleaner. It’s not good value for your money, and we won’t be booking here again.
The staff were super friendly when we arrived and really made us feel welcome, especially since we were stressed about being late for our arrival time; the rooms were really good, and the bathrooms were clean and well maintained.
“10/10 plain and simple will be back again”
Everything was fantastic, 10/10, except for the cost; the booking and £100 deposit made the price feel steep.
The location is great, the staff were welcoming, and the overall atmosphere felt very friendly.
The cleaning was excellent and the location was convenient.
