We booked Loft A because we were traveling with another family and wanted a single room with extra space for everyone to hang out. The room was fabulous—very spacious living area and bathroom, with comfortable beds. The hotel’s location is great and within walking distance of Kyoto station; we also walked back from the city center most nights, which took about 20 minutes. It was nice to be able to borrow items during our stay, and we used the record player, vinyl collection, and some craft beer glasses! The only downside was not having a view from the window, but that was a very small negative in an otherwise fantastic stay.

The view of the temple across the road is great, and it’s surprisingly quiet despite being on a busy road. All the facilities we needed were available, though the communal washing machine is downstairs. It felt more spacious than my hotel in Tokyo.
