The view is great, breakfast is tasty, beds are comfortable, the hotel stays quiet with few guests, and the facilities are excellent—an overall premium experience in the Douro valley. The hotel supplies all the comforts needed for a comfortable stay, but the room isn’t as roomy as we expected, lacks luggage space, and although the rooms are marketed for couples, the toilet door could be a bit more private. Also, there aren’t many dining options nearby.

Stunning scenery, large rooms, an indoor and outdoor pool with great facilities; however, accessing restaurants in the evenings requires a 15‑minute drive through challenging roads.
