“Enjoyable in general”
The location was superb, just a stone’s throw from the beach, and the weekend cooked breakfast was generally good, with tea, coffee, and biscuits in the room. Karen was a very friendly host, the property was dog‑friendly, and other guests were welcoming; parking was hassle‑free. On the downside, the first impression was marred by an angry, aggressive host named Paul, which put me off the accommodation. Complimentary toiletries would have been nice—soap, shampoo, etc. The coffee at breakfast was weak and lacked a kick; there were no fruit options, no cooked tomatoes, no nuts or seeds, and no croissants or pain aux chocolat. The mattress was too bouncy, so my partner’s movements woke me up. The bathroom was tiny and lacked a bath.
