There was no breakfast and I never saw anyone at the reception. After a long, exhausting journey we had to wait a long time before we could go to our room. The response to the complaint was poor. The reception at the pension was bad – I wouldn’t call it a hotel. Booking should offer some compensation; I heard nothing more from them, so this will be the last time I book here!

The distance to the city is 15 minutes. I feel cheated! They are not honest about how it looks in the photos; it’s fine online but in reality it’s terrible (check all 2026 reviews). The sockets don’t work – out of six, only two work. There was a big leak when it started raining; water literally ran along the walls to the floor and there were many stains on the ceiling, plus a view of pipes and trash. The shower hung down and needed water pressure to stay upright. There are many more issues; people shouldn’t book this! We thought it would be bad, but it’s really bad.

The location is awful, wedged between building bars and a Lidl store. No soundproofing. The duvet is stained. There was a duvet cover for two duvets. The shower knob was broken, the shower gel dispenser was broken, the bedside lamp didn’t work. The chairs were stained, the mattress was soft. The staff were nonexistent and didn’t respond to complaint messages!

The room was nice and tidy with a balcony, and the area is quiet and safe. Communication was lacking. Only the cleaner was present, and she spoke neither Croatian nor English. The day before arrival we received a contact message for emergencies. When we called, she answered promptly. On arrival we were told we could check in two hours early for an extra €10, but during the stay it suddenly became €14. She explained that €4 is a tourist tax, but that it’s included in the room rate. We also had an electrical issue; the breaker tripped. When I reported it, she said she would fix it, but she cleaned the room next to ours and I had to ask her twice for help. She seemed unsure of what to do and was also scared. Finally, I had to take her to the electrical cabinet so I could fix it. Communication with a single staff member was poor because of the language barrier.

Great value for a stay in Split – plenty of hot water for showers. It’s fine for a one‑night stay. Free parking is a great bonus. The instructions for entering the property and the communication were clear. The accommodation is basic, but that’s what you should expect for the exceptional price.
