Tarrytown House Estate

The hotel had water‑stained walls, a cigarette burn on the desk, and dirty towels hanging on the back of the bathroom door. Pets were allowed, the rooms had carpet that smelled faintly of urine. A wedding was happening during our stay, so there was no parking available for hotel guests. I’ll never return; I expected a rate of at least $500 a night. Smh.

“Stayed three times and will stay again”

The location was great and the grounds were beautiful. The price was high. The groundskeepers parked directly behind the handicap spot, making it hard for me to get out. Parking is generally difficult because the spaces are close together and the gaps between the lines are too narrow. A breakfast place on the grounds would be nice.

“We had an amazing relaxing stay”

The hotel grounds were stunning and the restaurant offered excellent food; the staff and decor were amazing. I would have liked a kettle in the room because I drink tea, and there was only a coffee machine, but the staff were very helpful and provided me with tea.

“Would not stat again”

The location was great and the room was clean. The estate was falsely advertised; the pictures look amazing but that’s only the main area. The rooms are in older buildings, old and outdated, and don’t match the luxury look of the main area. Everything was poorly labeled, so we couldn’t find our room because the halls were mislabeled. There were no ice machines anywhere, no elevators, so we had to drag luggage across the grounds and up several flights of stairs. Parking priority was given to events and the restaurant, so we had to park far from the room and often struggled to find a spot. It’s too pricey for the mediocre hotel room and experience.
