“Very overpriced. Caravan in need of repair and cleaned”
The caravan sits right next to the main bin area, so rubbish is everywhere, scattered all over the roads. Cigarette butts outside the main entrance weren’t cleaned up, grass grew through the veranda stairs, and the outside light was broken, giving it a shabby look for £170 a night. Inside, it was very basic: empty cupboards that could hold more crockery, no bin so we used a black plastic bag on the floor, food left from previous guests in the cupboards, hats on the kitchen cupboards, a broken pedestal in the toilet, no hand soap, old used scourers for washing dishes, and a dirty fridge—just tatty all around. The owner called when we arrived, but I was out with the dog, hadn’t entered the property, and it was late, so we got sorted. The next morning, after a terrible night’s sleep on those awful mattresses, I left a voicemail detailing everything. We went out for the day, expecting her to have supplied soap, but nothing happened and there was no response. We decided to leave because we couldn’t sleep in those beds again. I messaged her again, but it wasn’t acknowledged. The following day she replied saying she’d forgotten to get back to me—unbelievable. Health and safety, infection control, cross‑contamination were all ignored. Other guests have reported the same and nothing has been fixed. Disgraceful.
