The houseboat was very nice, the terrace was great, and the location was good; we had an electricity problem but the host was very dedicated to fixing it—thanks for that, we would book again.

All key points were reachable by bike, and the view and roof terrace were beautiful and inviting for evenings; the reception was modest, gave no answers to questions except that it was the key, and loading/unloading was hard because there was almost no space in front of the houseboat and people always wanted to park there.

We stayed several days at the Floating Sea Houses in Portoroz; check‑in was easy and we felt we were off to a good start. The marina itself was cool, with gated entrances and plenty of parking, and the location was convenient enough and a bit away from the tourist bustle. The boat was exactly what one would expect, a bit dated and perhaps that explains why many are for sale. The not‑so‑good part: the Wi‑Fi password was wrong and the management office told us to contact the owner directly, which shouldn’t have been our job. The bathroom sink was clogged and gross, with hair and other debris sticking out; we informed the office and they said the cleaning crew would check, but they never came during our stay. The air‑conditioning was weak and barely cooled the small boat, making some nights uncomfortable.
