“Très belle chambre, excellente localisation mais photo de l'extérieur trompeuse !”

The room was very pretty and comfortable, the staff were friendly and flexible, the hotel is in the center so you can walk around and the parking is free in the basement – very convenient, but the exterior photo on booking doesn’t match reality at all, it looks like an AI image; the building’s exterior is very ugly and you have to enter through a small dark courtyard and ring a bell at the bottom of a building, which is not very reassuring about the hotel; fortunately once inside everything matches the photos and is very nice. For breakfast we were sent to a café across the street that didn’t inspire confidence, so we declined

“Awesome stay in Schkoder, great base for Valbona-Teth hike”

We absolutely loved our stay! The staff were incredibly friendly and the hotel itself is stunning, especially the most comfortable bed we ever slept in. We booked two different rooms during our visit: the larger deluxe room overlooking the inner plaza was quieter than the street‑view room, but both were great. We appreciated being able to leave our luggage safely while we explored Valbona‑Teth, and even though breakfast isn’t served on site, it’s included at the nearby restaurant, which was convenient. They even packed us a to‑go box when we had to catch an early bus. The hotel is a short walk from the main tourist area—just a quick stroll, so it’s not a problem. The location is a bit off the main streets, but that gives a more authentic feel compared to being right in the busiest spots; the surrounding streets are less picturesque and charming than the old part of the city.

“Clean, spacious, but improvement needed.”

Clean, spacious, good location, but I really wish I could have given this hotel a higher rating, yet too many things factor into this rating. Even that I feel is generous, but it is only due to the efficiency of the staff I have to offer some grace. The room we booked was lovely and spacious. The problem was the amount of noise pollution. The listing stated ‘soundproofing’ and yet: the bathroom fan was really loud, it felt like an engine of a car was right next to us, the slamming of the heavy entrance gate below us could be heard every single time someone went in or out. You could hear the children slamming the balls and playing outside (which is not a problem, i don’t want to stop kids playing, but I do not expect to hear it all as if the window is wide open, when the room promises soundproofing). Worst of all, there was a banging noise every morning from 6am to 8.30am that woke us up. We could not understand what it was, but it sounded like a large machine was above our heads, like an industrial washer banging away. The staff were helpful when we mentioned this and moved us to another room, after investigating the noise. They did not know what caused it but unfortunately we had to downgrade to a smaller room and were told there was no option of compensation for this. Moreover, the shower pressure was weak, and the hot water disappeared after 10 minutes so it was hard for two people to shower back to back. Nevertheless the rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable. But when you are losing sleep and barely able to keep yourself clean from the lack of hot water, does it even count?
