The staff were friendly and welcoming, breakfast was a solid pick, parking was free, and the location was ideal; we didn’t get a chance to try the hot‑tube (£5 each), so I can’t comment on that. The only improvement would be to refresh the headboard and clean the carpet in the room.

The bunkhouse was clean and comfy, with basic amenities that suit a motorbike traveller. The main bar’s beer was mediocre; the Purple Moose didn’t compare to the Gwydr Hotel’s IPA, which seemed watered down and bland. Hot water spouted from the shower tap, and that was the only spot to boil a kettle—unsure if that’s sanitary. The mattresses were subpar, and the springs were noticeable.

The charming, picturesque lodging was in a perfect spot; the staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was nice and varied. On our last day we had to leave early, so the kitchen staff made a packed breakfast for us to take away. Off‑street parking for our rental car was a real bonus. We did have a shower leak on the first night, but it was fixed for the second night.

The stay was solid; the room was a decent size and the parking was convenient. The location was excellent, with all shops and restaurants nearby. The building feels a bit dated, though.
