“Für einen kurzen Aufenthalt ganz ok. Man darf keine grossen Ansprüche stellen. 7. Hoteltesting”
The owner was friendly, despite the language barrier, and we managed to communicate through a phone translator; he was also very helpful. The room was acceptable but costing over 200 000 VND per night seemed excessive, and it was very basic. The night guard couldn’t be friendly or even greet you. I might have stayed longer, but the price no longer seemed reasonable. Note that at 23:00 the hallway and stairwell lights go out, the door lock engages and the night guard sleeps in the office, leaving you unsure if you could get back in after a late outing—I didn’t test it. I’d been there for several weeks and wish they’d offered a longer‑stay rate. Room 207 was fine aside from being on the rainy side of the building, very damp, with mold and a lot of small critters chewing on the old wooden paneling you can even hear. Noise transmission at night was quite loud: around 11‑12 PM a washing machine (I assume) starts filling, the door slams loudly, then the machine hums, and the sound carries into the bedroom. During the day it’s less noticeable, but at night it wakes you. Test 7 for hotels.
