Being close to the orthopedic surgeon made it super convenient for a good night’s sleep after my surgery the next morning, but the A/C in my room was set to 61 degrees when I first walked in, and it was freezing.
Mr Miller at the front desk did an outstanding job
“Overpriced for what I got. Will not return.”
The front staff were pleasant and helpful, the main part of the room was nice, and the TV had many channels; the restaurant looked somewhat modern. However, the bathroom was disgusting—paying $640 Canadian for two nights for a bathroom that hasn’t been updated since the 1980s was unacceptable. Wallpaper was peeling, rust and grime were everywhere, and the tiles appeared to have mould on the grout.
“Consequently, I enjoyed a very pleasant stay at the hotel.”
The hotel sits just a stroll from Portland’s bus and train stations, and the 5, 7, 9A and 9B local buses stop right outside. A pharmacy, supermarket and several top‑class restaurants are all within walking distance.
“Will choose a different hotel next year”
The front desk staff were friendly and efficient, but the shuttle service was awful, there were no nearby dining options, the vending machine offered only flat soda, and the deadbolt on the door was broken.
