The staff were extremely polite and friendly, and they were easy to deal with. I had a pleasant stay and slept well because the mattress was soft and comfortable, especially compared to the previous hotel I stayed at. It would be better if they had a safe and secure parking area.

The location is great, and the staff are excellent—very friendly, polite, and always welcoming with a smile. However, the linen needs attention; I noticed it had hair on it and some discoloration. It would be better to replace it with new, clean linen to keep a comfortable and hygienic environment.

I recently stayed at The VIP Hotel in Cagayan de Oro and was very disappointed with their billing and customer service. Because my travel plans changed, I checked out early and tried to get a refund for the unused nights directly from the property, but the hotel staff was unhelpful and unwilling to offer a reasonable solution. I escalated the issue to request a date change or refund for the unused portion of my stay. They confirmed that because this was a “Property Collect” booking, the funds were collected directly by the hotel and the decision regarding a refund rests entirely with them. Despite this, the management of The VIP Hotel refused to cooperate or process a refund for services not rendered. I’m warning other travelers: be very careful when booking here, as they are not transparent about their refund policies and offer no flexibility or professional support even when notified of early departures in good faith. I will not stay here again.

I didn’t like anything about this hotel; it was dirty and the A/C wasn’t working. I complained to maintenance, who only pretended to fix it and told us to wait 30 minutes while the room was hot. I called multiple times and was ignored. I would not recommend staying at this facility. Only the respectful staff were decent, but the hotel overall is horrible.
