“Wonderful lodge”
Everything was spotless except for the towels, which were supplied by the honesty shop that also had food—great. Wi‑Fi was decent. The owner was quick to reply and friendly, and the house‑keeper we met was lovely. All the cooking essentials were present, and the heating worked wonderfully. The negative Google reviews seemed exaggerated; the lodge is pet‑friendly, so a bit of wear and tear is expected. The skylights aren’t the cleanest, but they’re under trees, so that’s understandable. We’ll definitely book again because the value for money is unbeatable. The train line nearby isn’t too noisy unless the door is open, so you can sleep through it. The only downside was the lack of instructions for the bathroom radiators—I couldn’t figure out how to turn them off—and the dishwasher, which I chose to use by hand because I wasn’t sure how to operate it.
