Good spot for Gatwick airport. The room was spacious and the dinner was freshly cooked. The staff were polite and cheerful. The bathroom is basic. The car park is overcrowded, cars are squeezed in for long‑term parking, and receipts are missing.

The staff were friendly and polite throughout, but the service felt more transactional than personal. The location was ideal for our visit to Royston, providing a convenient base. Check‑in and check‑out were straightforward, and the room had the basic facilities we needed for a short stay, as expected for a last‑minute budget booking. The bed was quite hard and moved and creaked whenever you turned over, which hurt our sleep. The mattress and pillows seemed to lack protective covers under the sheets and pillowcases, raising hygiene concerns. The shower had a curtain instead of a glass door, and we found a few small hairs in the tray on arrival. There was no restaurant menu or information in the room, so we didn’t know food was available. Breakfast options were limited, which would have been fine if the quality of the produce had been better.
