It was absolutely beautiful: spacious, fully equipped, quiet, private, and very comfortable. It’s close to a small town and a good beach. Don’t rely on GPS; the host’s directions are reliable, and it’s just off the TCH, so that’s not a real problem.

We loved the quiet room with its lovely view over Deer Lake and the friendly chat we had with Stephen and his dog Nico at breakfast. The owner couldn’t be there on arrival, so we checked in on our own and had to sort out the morning coffee ourselves, but Stephen showed up the next day and made a fantastic breakfast.

The bedroom was surprisingly spacious and the bathroom felt huge, which made getting ready a breeze. We spent a lot of time on the sunny sundeck soaking up the rays, and while the hot tub was a bit scalding, the sauna hit the perfect temperature.

The spot is stunning – perched high with panoramic views of Deer Lake and right next to a top‑notch golf course, making it a perfect backdrop for a relaxing stay.

The house itself was clean, comfy, and offered an amazing view, which made the stay enjoyable. Getting there was a bit of a hassle though; the road was rough and bumpy, but that’s clearly out of the owner’s hands.
