“Mehr Schein als Sein”
The view is very good because the resort sits 310 m above sea level; all the facilities looked very clean and well‑maintained.
But that same advantage is also a drawback: the location requires a very long and steep approach to the resort, practically only motorised and with courage to tackle it. Without a car you rely on the hotel’s (costly) shuttle or taxis. Since the resort itself spreads across several buildings up the mountain, it is unsuitable for small children and older people; the slope is certainly 20 %. The rooms were arranged in so‑called villas with 1–2 large, well‑equipped kitchens, but you were only allowed to use them in the morning. I don’t know why not in the afternoon or evening; I suspect it’s to keep everything looking clean after cleaning. There is a restaurant that offers a very expensive breakfast, and the other meals are only available on pre‑order, so careful planning is required! During our stay the restaurant was empty or closed. Aesthetics are secondary to everything else in this hotel. The numerous outdoor seating areas made of cast iron and ceramic look visually appealing but are very uncomfortable. There are several night‑time coloured artworks that somehow make little sense. Most rooms, including ours, have no private outdoor seating area, so you can only hope that space is available outside. Bottom line: ambivalent!
