If you want to stay near the Rheinfall waterfalls, this is an excellent location. It’s a 15‑minute walk. The owner is a very friendly and helpful man. I was about an hour or three early for check‑in, but he thought it over with me and said I could be in a little while, and that turned out to be true, which I really appreciated. While waiting I had lunch at the restaurant, which was excellent! The dinner was also very good – truly Italian. If I’m back in the area, I’ll stay there again. This hotel was a great base for the Rheinfall and also a nice starting point for the Grand Tour toward Appenzell. The breakfast could have been better; the dining room barely had light. Because I left early, there was a self‑service option, which was appreciated, but the breakfast area was a bit messily organized. With a little more attention, I think there’s a lot of room for improvement.
