Il Porticciolo hotel is situated in Laveno-Mombello, Varese, on the shores of Lake Maggiore, offering breathtaking views of Verbania, the Borromean Islands, and Monte Rosa. This 4-floor property features an indoor swimming pool, renovated SPA (2021), 11 spacious rooms and junior suites with private lake-view balconies, and two restaurants, including a 1 Michelin Star eatery. Deluxe rooms range from 25 to 55 m2, with large arched windows framing the surrounding landscape.

The lake room had a large balcony where you could relax and, if needed, smoke. The spa with a pool, Turkish bath, and sauna was a great experience. Breakfast offered a wide selection, and the staff was very helpful, even though there were few guests during the off‑season weekday, and they fulfilled a small request.

We had an incredible, unique experience at the hotel’s star‑rated restaurant. We had a pre‑ordered, dreamy dinner on the terrace at sunset, where we were pampered for two hours—probably the best experience of the year. Breakfast on the terrace right by the sea was also beautiful, with a very generous selection. The rooms were lovely, and we enjoyed the balcony right by the lake. The indoor pool was nice for swimming despite the warm summer weather, and there was a small outdoor area with loungers. We would have liked a bit more vegetable besides tomatoes at breakfast, but we didn’t ask for it. We might have gotten it. The lake was also swim‑able, but depending on wind direction the water wasn’t always clean. That’s not the hotel’s fault but the lake’s conditions.

Very clean, great view, friendly staff, rooms always ready—beds and bathrooms, new towels each time. A special shout‑out to Lilya from Milla. No complaints, it was truly a wonderful week.

The pool is literally on the lake, offering a lot of privacy since it’s a small place. The location provides very convenient parking, and it’s only a 10‑minute walk to the center of Laveno. The staff is super welcoming and helpful; we were greeted by a professional girl who welcomed us with a smile (not a given) and surprisingly good manners. The red‑haired girl was available for every request and tried to satisfy ours in every way, always with kindness.
