The hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating, the rooms were spotless and very comfortable, and I even had a terrace outside to relax and watch monkeys. Breakfast every morning was tasty, with fresh fruit available daily. The price was unbeatable and the beautiful Talalla beach is just a 2‑minute walk away. A shop next door stocked snacks and water. The bed was comfortable, equipped with a mosquito net and a fan inside, allowing me to sleep soundly.

Breakfast was amazing and the quiet location was a plus; the family was very friendly and helpful, and the internet was decent but insufficient for working. However, the hotel itself is noisy, a nearby religious service can keep you awake, and there are dogs barking and peacocks—hey, it’s Sri Lanka!

I was thrilled to find Talalla a very quiet little village, which suited me perfectly. The house was just a 2‑minute walk from the beach and a minute from a small shop that stocked all the basics. A handful of restaurants were also within walking distance, but because it was off‑season some were closed. The host supplied a delicious breakfast and dinner on request. Sri Lanka brought a fair amount of noise from another hotel, a temple, dogs and peacocks, but it didn’t bother me at all.
