We arrived at the hotel just before 11 am, hoping to drop off our luggage and start sightseeing, and the receptionist immediately checked whether any rooms were ready and handed us the keys straight away, which we greatly appreciated. The rooms were spotless, with a large, comfortable bed, and the double room was roomy enough for a relaxed stay for two. The apartment exceeded every expectation – it was huge, the sofa in the living area was already set up for sleeping, and the bathroom was cleverly divided into three separate spaces, making it both convenient and comfortable. Breakfast was tasty, the staff were courteous, the location was excellent, and the hotel exuded an amazing atmosphere, beautifully decorated with plenty of soulful nooks, seating areas and relaxation spots, all styled consistently. On the downside, rooms facing the street were very noisy; even with the windows closed, street sounds were clearly audible. The ground‑floor apartment offered virtually no view, being tucked below street level with only a fence visible from the window. The breakfast buffet was small with limited choices, and the dining room itself was also tiny, though we didn’t experience any real queues at the restaurant.

The breakfast was nice, and the lobby level offered plenty of common spaces. Slippbarin’s food was delicious and offered good value, especially after a 15% discount for hotel guests. The shower had a risk of making the bathroom floor wet, and the single room felt quite small.

Breakfast was excellent with a good variety of different items and many healthy choices. Location is great as it allows moderate walking to central area and easy access roads out of town. Overall style of the room and other areas is interesting, quirky fun, kinda retro loft or bohemian. There are a series of side room spaces for family gatherings and could also work for tour groups, etc. Shower was worked nicely and bed was comfortable with soft pillows and Euro-style dual comforters. Hotel entrance is on the back toward the marina - it requires walking around to the back and it's a long building, but is ok once you get used to it. There is a large building construction behind the hotel so this affects things now and stuff could change once this building is completed. Parking is nonexistent other than on the street across from the hotel, in neighborhoods or farther down to the grocery store. It turns out that apps like Parkka are needed for parking anywhere in town. This app works well. Once parked, open the app and it will find your location and options for parking. Note that if you put some thing like 2 hours in the app and DO NOT CLOSE OUT, then if you only use, say 1.5 hours, you can then close out and it will only charge for the 1.5 time used

The location is great, just a 15‑minute walk from the city center and about 20 minutes from Hallgrímskirkja, with many restaurants and cafés nearby, making it easy to explore the city on foot. The room faced the street and could be a bit noisy; without air conditioning, I had to keep the windows open, which amplified the street noise. The front desk service could have been better: when I asked for help arranging a taxi, the staff member seemed unwelcoming, gave me a stern look, and simply handed me a business card for a taxi company, which felt less helpful and courteous than I expected.
