Ballhaus Berlin Hostel occupies a historic red‑brick building in Mitte, Berlin’s cultural core. It blends 1920s glamour with contemporary flair, offering dorms with lockers and shared baths. The site houses Berlin’s oldest ballroom and a traditional Alt‑Berlin pub. Steps from the Natural History Museum, Berlin Wall Memorial, and Naturkundemuseum station, it connects easily to Alexanderplatz, Brandenburg Gate, and Museum Island.

The place offers great value and was very clean.

It sits right in the center, just a 3‑minute walk to a metro stop and a 5‑minute walk to several tram stops, with supermarkets nearby; the bar before heading up to the room is fantastic and the waiters are extremely friendly, they speak Spanish; the room was clean and spacious, everything was spotless; the bunk beds shift a lot, but the mattresses are very comfortable.

The location was good, but the bathrooms were terrible—stank, always dirty, and in awful condition.

Nothing. No staff at check in, no kitchen. Bathrooms were so disgusting and unclean every day that we chose to go out to go to the bathroom. Showers were especially disgusting
