The host is an artist and her whole family are painters, so the place feels very artistic, with a gallery next door showcasing their work. Mom made breakfast that was delicious, just a bit short on quantity, haha. The location was a bit hard to find; Google Maps didn’t list the name, so we had to use latitude and longitude to navigate. It’s a bit far from the city center, so you’ll need a scooter or drive about 40 minutes to get there.

“magique et authentique”

The hosts greeted us warmly, the breakfasts were tasty, and the overall vibe was very relaxed and pleasant.

The owner was incredibly kind and helpful, and she let us use her scooter directly. The room and bathroom were clean, and breakfast included fruit, eggs, and good toast. The only downside was a rooster that crowed all night, but that wasn’t the owners’ fault; a few earplugs would have been enough to block it.

“It was okay”

The property sits in a quiet part of Ubud and the design is very aesthetic, giving a sense of privacy and specialness. They kindly allowed us to leave our bags, and the beds were very comfortable. Unfortunately, ants were everywhere, even on the sheets and pillows (both dead and alive). We didn’t have hot water for the shower, and there weren’t many people around; the host seemed mysterious. Honestly, it’s a bit pricey for what you get.

“Aanrader!”

The family was friendly, the breakfast was tasty, the bed was wonderful, the water was warm, and the room had beautiful details that were all well taken care of.
