“Enjoyed the stay and the lovely bath. Food was ok and staff were exceptional.”
The bedroom and bath were beautiful, the pub and garden were spacious, and the vibe was nice, but since it had just reopened the hotel entrance and stairs needed cleaning.
The spot was ideal for the Waterside Theatre, right before it closed for renovation. The room we stayed in was spotless, comfy, and quirky in a good way. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the breakfast and evening meal we had there were nice. Everything else was fine.
I booked in September 2025, but they cancelled my stay the evening before, even though it was 10 months later!
“We arrived and the hotel was closed!”
We had no idea what we liked about the place – we showed up and the hotel was shut! When we tried calling, the line said “this number is not recognised.” Apparently the hotel was closed for refurbishments and they never told us. They did, however, accept payment. The service was absolutely dreadful – we had to arrange emergency lodging ourselves. No apology has come through, and we still haven’t received a refund.
“Great holel with lovely food and lovely staff”
The staff were amazing and very attentive. The room was lovely, complete with an amazing copper bath. The only downside was the noise outside at 2 am from locals having a row, but that wasn’t the hotel’s fault.
