The owner was kind and helpful, but the B&B clearly needs a full renovation and better upkeep. It’s on the third floor, yet the elevator was broken and the stairs are steep and uncomfortable, which is a problem when you’re lugging luggage. The furnishings look old and worn, and the shower had a terrible odor that definitely needs fixing. Mosquitoes were also a nuisance.
“Overall nice visit , just would have preferred not to have had a shared space”
The kitchen is well equipped with a coffee machine and plenty of breakfast goodies, and the ice bag was a nice bonus. The elevator was broken and the apartment sits on the third floor, but we weren’t warned about that. On our second night we learned someone else would be sharing the apartment in a separate bedroom, again without notice, and we had to leave items in the living area with our bedroom door open. We thought we’d booked the whole place, not a shared space, so we were not happy. We woke up to a family with a baby eating in the kitchen, so privacy was lacking. The shower backed up badly and filled with water; someone came to fix it the next day.
“Non male”
The room was spacious and cool, the breakfast was decent, and the location was super central. The bed was comfortable and the price was competitive. Too much noise seeped into the room, and I never got to meet the owner in person.
The central location is great, and the owners are very accommodating and the property itself is a valuable piece of Campobasso’s history. The only flaw is the broken elevator; being on the third floor with the 1920s‑era steps makes the building less practical. Still, the owners are excellent.
The location, courtesy, and cleanliness were all good. The lack of air conditioning—or at least a device that worked properly—was disappointing, and the bathroom tap needed more attention.
