“Beautiful and comfortable stay with good location.”
Beautiful and comfortable stay that is within walking distance to most sights. The accomodation is clean and having the onsen to myself was delightful. Breakfast was simple but fulfilling and the staff was very thoughtful to provide a slight variation to the breakfast for the last day since I stayed for 3 nights. Would love to stay again!. Nothing!
“Comfy and respectful stay”
It sits right in the city center. It surpassed our expectations by being comfortable, clean, quiet, and offering a private onsen. The staff were helpful and respectful. The room was spacious enough and came with all the amenities we needed. It’s traditional, so there’s no elevator, but we knew that beforehand and had light luggage. The room smelled like fresh tea, which some people appreciate. The air‑conditioner worked well and the duvets were super comfortable.
Private onsen! Breakfast.
“Un Ryokan très moderne”
The location is very good. The hotel is modern and comfortable yet still has character. The staff are pleasant. The rooms are small, the mattress is laid directly on the floor without a box spring, and the modern feel is a bit too pronounced for a Ryokan. Breakfast is always the same and exclusively Japanese: mizo with onions, rolled omelette slices, fish rice wrapped in seaweed, and onion rice wrapped in seaweed. There’s water only, no tea or coffee, so I ran to Starbucks! The staff are friendly and helpful but don’t speak English.
There are lots of shops nearby, which was handy, and I liked being close to Kōfuku‑ji and Starbucks. The sole of the slippers in the bathroom was starting to peel off.
