The location was great, just a 6‑minute walk to Victoria Station and a 20‑minute walk to Knightsbridge. The facility is old, the carpet in my room was terrible, and the hotel lacks a proper reception—an immediate renovation is needed to give the rooms a more hotel‑like feel.

The hotel was absolutely filthy, the lift has been broken for six months, and there was no offer to help with bags up the eight flights of stairs to the top floor. The cleaner tried to enter my room at 10 am and was extremely rude when I finally opened the door. I paid almost £200 for a terrible experience.

The location is spot on because it’s just a stone’s throw from Victoria station, the hub that links the city and the airports. The facilities were poor and unsafe: the elevator didn’t work, and if you’re stuck on the top floor, no staff will help you move luggage up or down. The stairs are narrow and steep. The bathroom was dangerous; the first night the shower curtain detached while I was sliding, and even after reporting it, they didn’t change rooms or fully fix the issue. I felt exposed and constantly worried about the shower slipping and breaking. The staff were very incompetent. I also asked for a clothes iron and never received it, even though the booking description says it’s included.

The spot was great for a quick weekend stop on our way to Gatwick airport. The lift was out of order, and we’d specifically checked for one because we were two women in our sixties with some mobility issues, so carrying suitcases seemed impossible. The staff ended up carrying our luggage up and down when we checked out.
