“Location and room quality is good. Need to be a fit person to climb up to 2nd floor by stairs.”
The room decor and size are very charming, but climbing up to the 2nd floor by stairs is not always comfortable.

Nice large rooms, AC and all facilities are excellent 👍, and the room is spacious with friendly staff.

The hotel's location was perfect for my needs, but the noise from the street outside made it hard to get a good night's sleep. The room itself was a decent size, and the bed was super comfy – I had no complaints there. However, the bathroom was a bit of a letdown – there was no shower screen or curtain, which made a mess every time I showered. Overall, it was a decent stay, but the bathroom issue was a bit of a nuisance.

The property is well situated near to the Ashram and Beach. Having stayed in several comparable properties in White Town, Colonial Suites was disappointing on multiple basic hospitality standards. Major issues encountered during a 6-night stay: Blankets had visible stains (possibly blood or food) that clearly had not been properly removed during washing. Room was on the second floor, but the staircase is extremely steep and long, comparable to four floors. No staff assistance with luggage, despite CCTV clearly showing guest arrival with heavy bags. Room door key was not working on arrival and there was no one at reception to assist. In-room safe was not functioning; this was simply acknowledged by management, not fixed. TV did not work for the entire six days of the stay. Housekeeping is not automatic; you must explicitly request cleaning. Blankets were never changed during the six-day stay. No breakfast is provided, which is acceptable, but there is also no basic coffee/tea unless you specifically ask — and only if the room happens to be cleaned. On arrival at 8:00 PM, immediate payment was demanded, but the receptionist could not process credit cards. Despite an existing credit-card guarantee via Booking, the owner woke me the next morning to demand payment in person. Summary: The location is good, but the overall experience reflects poor operational management, lack of service mindset, and inadequate attention to basic hygiene and guest comfort. At this price point and in this area, significantly better options exist

Saved being on the promenade itself, the location is pretty hard to beat. Actually, being just in a parallel street away is probably even better in term of potential noise, as the promenade can be quite lively. The room was spacious, with a nice sitting area, an extra "lazy" chair, but the crown jewel was the bed. Absolutely stunning. Never ever had I to climb stairs to get to bed. The staff was very friendly, communicated ahead and were very accomodating in letting me storing my luggage in the entrance before and after check-in. The WiFi worked very well. As mentioned by others, do keep in the mind that the hotel is on the second floor, with no lift. Not a problem for me, but for people with mobility problem, enjoying the awesome bed might present a challenge. The towels were not the freshest, but the staff were quick to change them after I mentioned it. Still not perfect, but better. One of the pillow cases had a stain on it
