“Um grande hotel no coração da Toscana.”
The breakfast at Café da manhã A Cantina O restaurante estrelado Contrada was excellent, and all the staff were very attentive, especially the wonderful sommelier Manuela.

Nestled in a restored 10th‑century medieval hamlet, Castel Monastero offers panoramic Tuscan vistas, a 1,000 m² spa with massages, a pool, and on‑site tennis. Rustic stone‑and‑wood rooms feature flat‑screen TVs, minibars, and free Wi‑Fi. Guests dine at a gourmet restaurant, a Tuscan‑cuisine venue, and a square bar, with a vast wine cellar. Siena lies 22 km away.

The view was amazing, the room spacious, the staff super friendly, the spa facilities incredible, and the restaurants great—everything was just perfect.

The quality was very good, but it was somewhat noisy with hallway traffic and the room above, and The Cantina was too expensive for its value.

The location and the renovated buildings are nice, but the Italian restaurant felt low‑quality for a five‑star hotel, with bland flavors, a tiramisu that looked a bit stale and not creamy, and a taste that seemed more tailored to visitors than locals.

A relaxing and lively experience at Burg Castel Monastero that blends history, style, and Italian living in a unique way. Its origins date back to the 11th century, lovingly restored and furnished with a keen sense of atmosphere. We stayed in the second half of September and could simply extend our summer holiday in the 30‑degree heat. The pool and calm vibe make it easy to unwind completely. At the same time, the location is perfect for wine lovers: Brolio, San Felice, and many other Chianti highlights are quickly reachable, as is the Montepulciano area. No complaints, just perfect.
